This saree depicts the Mathura gaman of lord Krishna on the invitation of his uncle, the evil Kansa. The saree is a masterpiece and there's top class workmanship evident - the chariot has been depicted in painstaking detail The gopis spread themselves on the road to stop the lord from proceeding. The pallu has details of the village life in Vraj - cowherds and shepherds moving about, women going about their chores.

Patachitra is the folk art of Odisha and originated in the 12th century in Punri, Odisha. It depicts various themes based on the life of Lord Jagannath.
