This saree depicts Krishna and his gopis in the raasleela dance on the moon along with different dance poses by the Gopis.
In Patachitra art 'Raasleela' is often shown as Krishna in the centre surrounded by Gopis as has been done on this saree, it is not necessarily circular. The pallu additionally depicts Gopis under an arch in various dance poses.
Patachitra style of painting - an ancient art form originating from Puri, Orissa, where paintings depict stories & the glory of Lord Jagannath (Krishna).
